Dr Zoe Ormiston – General Practitioner

About Dr Zoe

Graduating from James Cook University School of Medicine in 2010 Zoe then secured a position at Gold Coast Hospital where she completed her Intern and Junior House Officer years. During this time she also completed placements at the emergency departments of Royal Children’s Hospital, Roma Hospital and Charters Towers Hospital, gaining much experience in various areas of medicine. This was when Dr. Zoe decided that a career in General Practice was the right choice for her. Dr Zoe’s first 18 months of General Practice training were spent in the country town of Roma in Western Queensland, where she thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being a rural GP.

Dr Zoe offers a compassionate and thorough approach, her special interests include shared antenatal (pregnancy) care and the full range of paediatric services.

Special Interests and Expertise

Dr. Zoe’s approach to her medical practice is providing high quality, evidence-based care in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner.  In addition to working at our Easy T Centre practice, Dr Zoe also works casual emergency shifts at Gold Coast University Hospital. She enjoys all areas of medicine however has special interests in antenatal shared care (public and private) and paediatrics/child health.  One of the only female GP’s during her rural service, Dr Zoe gained a great deal of experience in shared antenatal (pregnancy) care and is very thorough. She really enjoys this aspect of general practice.

Dr Zoe also enjoys providing the full range of paediatric services. Her previous experience at Royal Childrens Hospital and ongoing exposure with a paediatric specialist at Gold Coast Hospital have given her a great deal of paediatric experience to draw upon when dealing with various child health conditions.
