More young people are struggling with arthritis. There are over 200 different types and it’s not just a condition of old age – it can strike at any time. There is plenty that can be done to help manage arthritis successfully and get on with enjoying life.

” The vast majority (86%) of the more than half a million younger Australians (18-49 year olds) living with arthritis believe there is a need for more publicly available educational information about arthritis to help better manage their condition.” – Arthritis Australia, October 2015.

A new online resource has been developed to help people of all ages to manage their arthritis. It was launched on World Arthritis Day on 12 October 2015.   If you or someone you know has arthritis, why not check it out.

The Empowered website provides information, tools and resources to help those living with arthritis, their carers, family and friends. It also offers expert opinions from health professionals such as rheumatologists and allied health.

Topics covered include

  • Early symptoms
  • Visiting your doctor
  • Considering therapy options
  • Managing long term
