Workcover
GP’s play a key role in managing workplace injuries and assisting in recovery and return to work if time off is required.
Doctors are required to complete Workers Compensation Medical Certificates when treating a patient with a workplace injury or condition.
Workers Compensation Medical Certificates are a a legal document used by WorkCover insurers to commence a claim.
GP’s may refer the worker to other medical specialists for treatment or providing medical assessments.
Injury management refers to the cooperative effort by the worker, employer and treating GP to help the injured worker return to work following an injury.
As at 1 December 2017 WorkCover are no longer paying medical services without an accepted claim in place.
Avoid delays and ensure your contact details are up to date with us at your first visit to treat your injury so WorkCover can get in contact with you as quickly as possible
