Ganglion Removals at Robina Town and Easy T Medical Centre
What is a Ganglion?
A ganglion is a non-cancerous lump. These fluid-filled lumps can be found in joints, tendons, or the joint capsule or tendon sheath in the wrist and hand. Depending on the size and location of the cyst, they can cause pain, discomfort, and limit mobility. While they are usually harmless, they can cause pain, discomfort, or even limit your range of motion. If you're experiencing any of these symptoms, a number of the providers in our rooms perform minor surgical procedures.
What are the non surgical options for Ganglion Removal?
When you come in for a ganglion removal procedure, the GP will first thoroughly examine your lump and assess your symptoms. We will then discuss with you the most appropriate treatment options, which may include nonsurgical methods such as observation or using a wrist brace to relieve any discomfort. Depending on your specific case, we may recommend a conservative treatment approach, such as observation or aspiration, where the fluid is drained from the ganglion using a needle. However, if your symptoms persist or if the ganglion returns after aspiration, or is not relieved by a nonsurgical method, your doctor may recommend surgical removal.
What does Ganglion Surgery Involve?
