Background and interests
Dr Rob Mackenzie is a GP Registrar who begins the GP part of his training at Robina Town Medical Centre.
I’m originally from the west coast of Canada & moved to Australia back in 2016 to study medicine. I obtained my MD from the University of QLD in 2019 & worked in Cairns as a junior doctor & intensive care registrar before moving to the gold coast. Here, I continued my training in intensive care and general medicine at the gold coast university hospital. Throughout my training I’ve gained experience in many areas including critical care, emergency medicine, general medicine and surgery.
What I enjoy most about medicine is the opportunity to work with people to address their health concerns. I value an individualised & evidence-based approach to medicine in order to provide high quality person-centred care.
My interests outside of medicine involve spending time with family & friends & partaking in any and all activities aimed at tiring out my border collie.
