Background and interests
Dr Alison Hartwell studied medicine locally at Griffith University and trained at the Gold Coast Hospital, becoming a GP in 2012. She has a Diploma in child health (DCH) and has completed the Advanced Gender Affirming Hormone Therapy course. Dr Alison’s areas of practice include antenatal shared care, children’s and women's health, skin checks, general medicine and preventative medicine. Dr Alison has a special interest in musculoskeletal medicine; she undertakes Ultrasound guided steroid and PRP injections at the practice and assists in orthopaedic surgery two days a week. Another growing field of interest is sexual health medicine, including cervical screening, STI checks, contraception, MToP, PrEP and transgender GAHT . She is welcoming new and old patients to the practice.
