About Dr Robyn

Robyn is a registered Clinical Psychologist and researcher with almost 20 years experience working in mental health with all ages across the lifespan. Robyn has a warm, empathic, supportive, non-judgmental approach and communication style and works with individuals conducting private therapy for anxiety, panic, depression, post-traumatic stress and groups.
Robyn is also a Mindfulness Training Institute (MTI) Level 2 Mindfulness teacher and teaches Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and Mindfulness Based Parenting groups. Robyn worked in Adult Mental Health Services, Child Protection Services and Child Mental Health Services for 10 years before going into private practice in 2011.
Robyn is a registered professional supervisor for the Queensland Psychologists Board. In this capacity, she has supervised provisionally registered psychologists, as well as post graduate Masters and PhD level psychologists.
Robyn is currently a PhD candidate at the School of Applied Psychology at Griffith University, Gold Coast. She is conducting research into approaches to support parents with high stress, anxiety and depression, and/or their children’s mental health difficulties with Mindfulness Based Parenting groups.
Special Interests and Expertise
Robyn is experienced in helping adults, children and youth with a range of issues including anxiety, panic, depression, grief and loss, workplace stress, anger, parenting and chronic illness and pain. Robyn works from a strong clinical, client centred approach which includes psycho education, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Based therapies, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Schema Therapy.
Adults, children and youth with a current GP Mental Health Care Plan are eligible to obtain a rebate for up to 10 sessions from Medicare in a calendar year (January to December)
Individual Therapy focuses on resolving the issues that are troubling you at the current time. Initially we will identify the goals you want to accomplish and work together to identify techniques that enable you to make the positive change you are seeking. We will work through an achievable series of steps on the path to resolving these issues, release you from past negative patterns, enabling you to move forward and enjoy life.
Please note that I am obliged to charge 100% of fee for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. If you do not attend your scheduled appointment after confirming it, 100% full fee for the appointment hour will be charged.
Robyn has experience in public speaking and group facilitation. She can deliver presentations to your business, school, private interest group or sports team. Specifically, she works with small or large groups presenting on topics including anxiety, depression, stress, positive effective parenting, mindfulness, effective communication and relationships. Presentations can be tailored to your organisation or group and be for one hour or one day!
