Gynaecology Services
Gynaecological care from puberty through to post-menopause.
Gynaecological health refers to all medical complaints and conditions relating to the function of the female reproductive system, more specifically; the uterus, ovaries and vagina.
Whatever your age, from puberty onwards, a woman is susceptible to gynaecology issues and, due to the often-personal nature of these problems, it’s important that to find a GP and potentially a gynaecologist that you’re comfortable with.
The broad range of issues can start with simple-to-treat infections and go all the way through to more serious, long-term complaints which can affect fertility and may require surgery as a treatment.
While many gynaecology issues are relatively minor and nothing more than a nuisance; others require a longer-term treatment plan and can have more debilitating consequences on daily activities.
Symptoms of gynae issues
If you’ve recently suffered with any of the following symptoms, a check-up appointment with your GP will advise if you need to refer to a women’s health specialist or gynaecologist for further treatment:
- Abnormal bleeding between periods
- Unusual pressure in your pelvis
- Chronic pain in your uterus
- Discomfort or pain during urination
- Discomfort, pain, or bleeding during intercourse.
- Significant changes to flow or levels of pain during menstruation.
- Lumps or sores in the genital area.
As with all medical cases, early detection of any serious gynaecology issues can help with an effective treatment program.
