Transgender medicine at RTMC is offered by Dr Alison Hartwell, who provides inclusive, experienced, and affirming care for trans and gender diverse patients of all ages.

Dr Alison can assist with:

• General health and preventive care tailored to your individual needs, regardless of gender identity
• Gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) - initiation and ongoing management for eligible adult patients, including oestrogen and testosterone therapy
• Mental health support - including Mental Health Care Plans and referrals to affirming psychologists and counsellors
• Screening and sexual health - thoughtfully approached based on your anatomy and individual circumstances, not assumptions
• Fertility and reproductive health discussions, including information on options before commencing hormone therapy
• Referrals to specialist services - including endocrinology, gender clinics, and surgical services where appropriate
• Support for young people and their families - including referrals to specialist paediatric gender services and family support organisations
