Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery
At Robina Town Medical Centre, we understand that a diagnosis of skin cancer can be concerning. Whether the diagnosis is basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) or melanoma, we can provide advanced skin cancer surgery techniques that prioritise effective treatment, close to home and typically more affordably than seeing a surgeon outside of our practice.
What is Advanced Skin Cancer Surgery?
Skin cancer surgery is a procedure to remove cancerous skin cells and surrounding tissue to prevent the spread of cancer. It is often the most effective way to treat skin cancer, especially when detected early. Advanced skin cancer surgery is a more specialised area involving flaps and wedges for skin cancer removal on the head, neck, face, and upper and lower limbs.
Advanced skin cancer surgery techniques
Dr Brian Larter uses the latest techniques and technology in skin cancer surgery to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients. We offer a range of surgical options tailored to meet the specific needs of each patient, including:
Local excision: removing the skin cancer / cancerous tissue and a surrounding margin of tissue next to the cancer as a safety measure
Local flap repair - moving tissue with its own blood supply from an area near the wound
